Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell is a family business that has found in dedication, an urge to excel and a determined commitment to quality, both in materials and technology, a way to maintain constant growth, despite the difficulties of the market in the last years.

Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell has been in the market dedicated to the manufacture of molds and dies for almost 40 years, mainly for the automotive industry, but also for other sectors such as consumer electronics.

The current competitiveness and the high levels of demand of these sectors in terms of quality and price require a determined commitment to constant innovation, with a permanent update of the production means that allow offering an increasingly high quality of manufacture with a few times response rate and decreasing costs.

Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell response was to combine Cimatron and Fikus Visualcam technologies with their long experience in the industry in order to offer the levels of quality and productivity that customers demand. The propf of the success of this formula is the constant growth of the company which, despite the crisis, has been increasing its workforce to be able to cope with demand and which has even been forced to relocate in 2009 to more spacious and modern facilities to accommodate its increasing workload.

Transfer Matrix and combined

montatge

The permanent evolution of Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell has led them to specialize in the production of dies transferred by robotic arms and combined dies(riveted and threaded within the automated process itself) that differentiates this Catalan company from most of its competitors.

In order to tackle projects of the complexity of transfer and combined dies, the competition of CAD/CAM/CAE solutions such as Cimatron that allow projects of this type to be varried out easily, safely and with high productivity.

The work of cutting parts by EDM or laser and the work of turning, milling and roughing are entrusted to modern machine tools managed with Fikus Visualcam, which guarantees high productivity and quality in each of the phases of the production process.

Constantly updated

The increased volume of work and the increasing complexity of the modls and dies that it manufactures, has led Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell to locate in its current facilities in Badalona, with 1.000 meters of plant and another 500 meters elevated, where to install all its state-of-the-art machinery and its 17 workers.

Success in a sector as competitive and demanding as the automotive or consumer electronics sector requires a permanent update of the productive means.

if six months ago a new 400 TM press was incorporated for die testing, 3.000 x 1.500 mm useful, two new cutting-edge CNC machining centers are expected in weeks to replace the current ones. Only constant renewal and having the best technology ensures that we are permanently competitive and Matrius i Motlles R. Grifell, which has shown that this is a successful formula, does not intend to abandon it.
